Rurouni Kenshin Live-Adaptation Film Announced Starring Satoh Taker
Warner Brothers Pictures Japan has officially announced live-action film adaptation of Nobuhiro Watsuki’s Rurouni Kenshin manga series starring actor Satou Takeru, who is well known for his role as Kamen Rider Den-O.
The film is scheduled to be released in 2012 and will be directed by Otomo Keishi who also directed last year NHK historical television series Ryoumaden. Nobuhiro Watsuki had discussed with his wife on who should play the role of Kenshin and Satou had topped their list.
Satoh himself said that he was a huge fan of the original manga when he was in elementary school and when the manga was still running. Satoh began intensive training in sword-fighting earlier this month, and filming will begin in July.
